The famous singer Amy Winehouse, who is best-known for her powerful deep contralto vocals, was reported to pass away on July 23, 2011with a lot of empty vodka bottles in her room. Her blood was also discovered to have lethal amounts of alcohol. The British and U.S. legal drunk-driving limit is 0.08 percent, but Amy Winehouse had a blood alcohol level of 0.4 percent, more than five times this limit. A person can die if he or she drinks too much alcohol at one time because of alcohol poisoning. Therefore, coroners concluded that Amy Winehouse drank herself to death.

The talented singer, who had faced problems related to drug and alcohol for years, was spotted lying motionless in her bed at home in London. Amy Winehouse was reported to die at the age of just 27 although there is no sign of illegal drugs as well as injury in her system and on her body.

Pathologist said that the blood and urine samples proved that Winehouse had drunk too much alcohol before her death. The high level alcohol in Amy’s blood that came from three empty vodka bottles in her bedroom could have pushed her into a coma and killed her.
