La Mata ? A Great Place To Holiday On The Sunny Costa Blanca

One of Europe’s healthiest places to live, La Mata is located just 10 minutes drive from Torrevieja and about 35-40 minutes from both Alicante and Murcia airports. It is a typically Spanish Town with it’s town square and church being at the centre of the community. Bars and restaurants line the sides of the square and continue along the sea front offering anything from Spanish Tapas to an English fry up. A street market takes place every Wednesday allowing tourists to mix with the locals and buy fresh fruit and vegetables, leather and even attempt some haggling on the prices offered. It is an ideal time to dig out your Spanish phrase book and speak with the locals.

La Mata is also blessed with a long stretch of fine golden sand and palm tree lined beach which has held the illustrious blue flag for cleanliness, water quality and safety for a number of years. Natural twig parasols and loungers are available for hire on the beach from Spring to Autumn. Towards one end of the beach is a gorgeous waterfalled park area where you can wander in and out of the shade of the trees, take a picnic and let the kids play on the recently built swings. The beautiful ‘Mississippi’ restaurant lies at the top of the waterfalls giving diners fantastic sea views.

Being on the eastern part of the Costa Blanca, be prepared to see some fantastic sunsets in La Mata, and some of the best of these can be seen just a 10 minute walk from the town square, across the N332 road to the natural park and salt lake which is a lovely area for a picnic or a walk where you can see a number of birds including flamingo’s and hoopoes’, and plants (there is a tourist information hut where you can pick up a leaflet).

Habeneras shopping centre with its many high street stores and local boutiques is located just a 7 minute drive from La Mata along the main coast road, a pleasant way to spend an early evening before heading into the bustling Spanish town of Torrevieja, with its shops, bars, restaurants and beautiful boardwalk along the sea front where you can see the locals promenading and mixing with the tourists at sunset.

La Mata mixes local Spanish culture with the more modern side of Spain, long sandy beach, all year round sun and plenty of things to do and see with or without a car. A perfect place for a holiday on the Costa Blanca.

Looking on the web an ideal hotel in Tuscany means to do a generic research, because in Tuscany there a lot of hotels and because there will be also structures in mountain, hills or at the seaside, one, two, three, four or five stars hotels in the results of the browser.

Typing in Google the following query hotel Tuscany, which structure can be considered an ideal hotel for a vacation in Tuscany? A very nice question that deserves  a complete answer. A Hotel can be thought the ideal in order to visit Tuscany, if it has at least those characteristics :

cleanness,
comfort,
elegance,

You agree with me, don’t you?

Those are the fundamental elements that a hotel has to belong for being considered ideal, and if it offers to its guests other services like wellness centre, swimming pool, restaurant and activities, relax and leisure, it is experiencing the excellence.

Now we improve our research method and we look for “hotel Chianti” instead of “hotel in Tuscany” obtaining even in this case a wide lists of contact. The following step can be consulting  “Tripadvisor“,  a well known web site that collect comments, reviews and feedback of people that have already stayed in the several hotels of Italy and finding the hotel that has the biggest amount of positive reviews. Now we have all the tools for a good choice of the hotel where to spend a wonderful holiday in Tuscany!

Spanish Cuisine: Developed over Many Centuries for your Holiday

You have book your HOLIDAY TO SPAIN for a culinary adventure. Good luck and bon appetite. Spanish cuisine can only be described as a rich blend of many different specialties that either originated there or were brought there over the centuries. They have become an integral part of cooking in the various regions of Spain. The use of these specialized items is influenced by the topography and climate of the 17 autonomous communities of Spain. Spain is a country of variations and so is its cuisine. Most Spanish dishes rely on seafood and vegetables as a basis for the end product but with the different climate, culture and geography, no two dishes are the same. There are a number of Spanish dishes known worldwide including paella. This is a rice dish rich in saffron with a mixture of seafood, chicken, and vegetables, an omelette filled with potatoes is known as a tortilla and the nationally known drink of sangria is a sweet red wine with a mixture of fresh fruit in it. Most of the Spanish cuisine is recognized by the world health food council as being healthy. A Mediterranean diet is contrived from local ingredients such as olive oil and tomatoes. Once you see how simple the preparations of these dishes are, you will not believe how delicious they can be from the simplest soups to preparations for an outdoor picnic.

The Spanish cuisine is an amalgamation of different civilizations that have ruled this lovely country. Each region has dishes based on what fresh ingredients are readily available such as seafood, game, ham, veal, sausages and the widely used olive oil which is the basis for most dishes. The most notable thing you will notice in Spanish cuisine is its light use of seasonings and its vast amount of seafood used due to the proximity of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Don’t confuse Mexican cuisine with Spanish cuisine: both are spicy but the Mexicans use a profusion of chilli peppers to make their dishes both flavoursome and hot.

The modern day Spanish chefs have elevated the Spanish cuisine to a level not achieved in the past. For the most part, this was accomplished by learning how to blend ingredients and flavourings not how to present a meal. The Spanish believe that a plate of food should look like what it is and at the same time taste of what it appears to be. As you travel the world, you will find that Spanish cuisine is more than just a plate of tapas.

While on your HOLIDAY TO SPAIN tapas is a good way to sample Spanish cuisine, one small dish at a time. In fact, tapas date back to medieval times when you ordered a drink it was covered with a small plate of food to keep the insects out of your drink; hence the word “tapar” which means “to cover”. This offering of food was free but today you have to pay for it, although in some small Spanish villages you can still get it for free. It is said that Spanish cuisine is spreading throughout the world like wildfire. You can now find a tapas bar in most large cities along with a Spanish restaurant or two. This is all due to the use of fresh ingredients and the simplicity of their dishes. In Spain if a restaurant doesn’t use fresh ingredients it will not last long as it is a basic requirement of the Spanish people because eating out is a way of life. It is not unusual to see a whole family in a restaurant for three or four hours even though they arrived after ten o’clock, which is the norm.
